- Empowering Progress: You’ll get clear feedback, weekly goals, and a strong sense of accomplishment as you improve. My teaching is structured but encouraging, designed to build both skill and confidence.
Instruments and Levels:
Cello: All levels, age 10 through adult—whether you're picking it up for the first time or returning after years away.
Violin, Viola, & Bass: Beginner to intermediate students, ages 10 and up.
No matter your background, you’ll be welcomed with patience and respect.
Rates
In-Home Lesson Rates
I only offer hour lessons (60-minutes) for in-home lessons, for the first child.
60-Minute Lesson
One-hour in-home 1:1 lesson.
NOTE: All in-home lessons include a $20 travel fee for each lesson. The fee is applied once per household each scheduled lesson day. In-home lessons are available within a 10-mile radius of Spring, TX., and are subject to teacher availability.
The Parlor Recital Experience
Performance should feel magical, not mechanical.
At Guilfoyle Strings, students take part in Parlor Recitals, a revival of the 19th-century music salon where musicians shared their art in warm, intimate spaces among friends and family. Imagine food and fun, beautiful music, and a comfortable, safe performing space where students feel free to fully express themselves. What's better than that?
Each recital becomes a celebration: candlelight, conversation, and cello. Students perform in their living room surrounded by community rather than competition. These experiences help young musicians develop presence, poise, and authentic expression: the kind of artistry that lasts a lifetime.
Families may host a parlor concert in their own home, and students have the opportunity to perform not just one short solo in a long list of other children playing. They have the chance to play multiple solos, precisely like a real parlor recital. This preparation provides professional-level experience for students that mirrors the type of experiences they will have in college and beyond.
